"Strange old folk tales don't inevitably live forever. They need new energy to survive - and a fresh storytelling voice can uncover long-lost levels of meaning. David Phelps, connoisseur of Welsh Border Gothic, is a vital part of a tradition as old as time." - Phil Rickman
After a career in the civil service David Phelps returned to his native county of Herefordshire, intent on searching out the folklore and history of this special place.
He fell in with a company of oral storytellers and discovered a fascinating tradition that is still very much alive.
Available, with his partner Valerie Dean, for live performances of local and other stories, details can be discussed through the Contact Form at the top of this page.
He is the author of seven books, which can be accessed here.
